Aims and Ethos
The LCTSA is committed to improving the educational outcomes for pupils at all schools in Leicester City and beyond, working closely with the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.
By offering evidence-based continuing professional and leadership development courses on a needs basis, the LCTSA can respond to the requirements of the schools within its remit, offering a bespoke programme of training.
It aims to collaborate with established teaching schools in the area, to identify opportunities to embed school improvement strategies through effective school-to-school support models, establishing a network of SLEs, LLEs and NLEs, and brokering their deployment.
As a partner of the Leicester and Leicestershire SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training), the school had a proven track record of producing outstanding trainee teachers. The LCTSA School Direct route into teaching will have a distinctive Catholic focus, guaranteeing placements in Catholic schools and offering additional training opportunities around working in a Catholic school.
LCTSA's logo is a triquetra, an ancient Celtic symbol. Its three points represent the Holy Trinity - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and the circle represents unity. This symbol therefore epitomises both the Catholic nature of our Alliance and the collaborative manner in which it works.
